Methodology
Each state is shown on one common basis: online casino including online poker, as gross revenue (amounts wagered less amounts paid out to players), before promotional deductions and before tax, in US dollars, not adjusted for inflation. Michigan's MGCB does not split poker out of internet gaming, so the other two states' poker is added to their casino figure to match: New Jersey = DGE internet casino win + peer-to-peer poker win (equal to DGE's Internet Gaming Win); Pennsylvania = PGCB interactive slots + interactive table games + interactive poker gross revenue (a sum calculated by us; PGCB publishes no combined iGaming line); Michigan = MGCB internet gaming gross receipts. Sports betting and land-based casinos are excluded everywhere. The definitions are close but not identical: the three regulators word 'gross' differently, tax bases differ (PA taxes gross revenue, MI taxes adjusted gross receipts after promotional credits), and each state can restate a month. The 'Total' column and 'Combined gross' figure are our sums of the three states, not a published figure. Ontario is not included: it reports in Canadian dollars, and we never add CAD and USD figures together.
- New Jersey New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement
- Internet casino win + peer-to-peer poker win (= DGE Internet Gaming Win). First-published figures, subject to amendment.
- Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
- Interactive slots + interactive table games + interactive poker gross revenue. Our sum of three PGCB report lines.
- Michigan Michigan Gaming Control Board
- Internet gaming gross receipts, which already include online poker (MGCB does not split it out).
Figures are nominal and not adjusted for inflation. Regulators sometimes restate prior months; restated rows are footnoted. Spotted an error? Email corrections@igamifynews.com.
