Online casino
Gross receipts were +15.1% year on year and +0.1% against July 2026’s $302.8M (our calculation). Operators paid $61.2M in iGaming taxes and payments to the State of Michigan. The three Detroit commercial operators paid $13.4M to the City of Detroit, and tribal operators paid $8.5M to their governing bodies. Michigan taxes iGaming AGR on a sliding scale of 20% to 28%. Hannahville suspended its iGaming and online sports operations from July to November 2025, so the year-ago comparison covers a slightly different set of operators.
Sports betting
Online sportsbooks took $330.5M in handle, with gross receipts of $34.6M and AGR of $24.2M. State taxes and payments were $1.6M at the 8.4% rate on AGR, and Detroit received $0.5M. Operators with negative AGR pay no tax, so the statewide tax can differ from 8.4% of statewide AGR.
