PGCB’s iGaming “gross revenue” is wagers received minus amounts won; Pennsylvania taxes it directly and publishes no separate adjusted or taxable line. PGCB also publishes no combined iGaming total, so this story does not add slots, tables and poker together.

Online casino and poker

Online table games (iTables) brought in $47.4M of gross revenue on $2.61B of wagers, −2.2% year on year (our calculation). Online poker revenue, which is rake and tournament fees, was $2.3M; PGCB does not report poker wagers.

The 34% state tax line on iSlots was $67.7M. iSlots carry a total levy of 54% (34% state, 13% CFA county grants, 5% and 2% local share); iTables and iPoker pay 14% state tax plus a 2% local share. The iTables state tax line was $6.6M.

Sports betting

Online sportsbooks took $488.4M in handle and reported $62.5M of revenue. After $12.9M of promotional credits, taxable gross revenue was $49.6M, and the 34% state tax due was $16.9M. PGCB notes that sports handle includes futures, so revenue divided by handle is not a true hold percentage.
