The Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) reported $56.6M in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue for September 2026, releasing its first market performance report since the commercial framework opened in July.

“Early results indicate that Albertans value the strong oversight and greater accountability offered by a regulated market,” AiGC CEO Dan Keene said.

The provincial market launched on July 13, 2026, with 15 regulated iGaming operators. According to the regulator, that figure grew to 24 operators by September 30, 2026. The AiGC noted that the initial reporting period represents a gradual onboarding phase, expecting several more operators to transition to the regulated framework before the end of the calendar year.

Revenue and Market Share

The regulator’s data shows steady month-over-month growth in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) during the initial rollout. July yielded $22.2M in revenue, followed by $43.3M in August. By September, revenue reached $56.6M.

During September, traditional online casino games generated the vast majority of the province’s gaming revenue, accounting for 75.6 per cent of the NAGGR market share. Sports and event betting captured 19.5 per cent, while live casino offerings made up the remaining 4.9 per cent.

Player Activity and Revenue Allocation

The AiGC reported 388,585 active player accounts during September. The regulator clarified that this figure represents total accounts with player activity during the month, rather than unique individuals, as players can hold accounts with multiple approved operators. For that month, the Average Revenue Per Active Player Account (ARPPA) sat at $146.

As part of the provincial structure, a designated portion of gross gaming revenue is diverted to specific public initiatives. The framework allocates 2 per cent of revenues to support First Nations, while 1 per cent is directed to Social Responsibility programs funding mental health, addiction programming, and research.

Moving forward, the AiGC stated it will provide reporting each month to track market performance.
