Ontario’s regulated online gaming market generated C$396.3M of gaming revenue in August 2026 on C$9,740M of cash wagers, according to iGaming Ontario’s monthly market performance data tables (XLSX). That is +18.4% against C$334.8M in August 2025 and −4.2% against C$413.6M in July 2026 (our calculation). The figures are from the edition of the workbook that iGO published on 2026-09-23, which covers every month since the market opened.

All money figures are in Canadian dollars, millions. iGO reports wagers to the nearest C$1M and revenue to C$0.1M. Gaming revenue is NAGGR (non-adjusted gross gaming revenue): cash wagers minus player winnings, before operating costs and with no deduction for promotions. Cash wagers exclude bonus wagers.

By product

Casino, which includes peer-to-peer bingo, produced C$336.3M of revenue on C$8,776M of wagers. iGO’s betting category, which covers sports, esports, novelty and exchange betting rather than sports alone, produced C$54.4M on C$843M. Peer-to-peer poker produced C$5.6M. In the August workbook the three products’ wagers add up to C$9,741M against a printed total of C$9,740M, a C$1M rounding difference. Casino wagers are exactly C$8,776M in both July and August 2026; iGO’s July and August editions agree on this, but it is unusual enough that we have not built a headline on it.

Players

iGO counted 1,208 thousand active player accounts, with average revenue per active account of C$328 for the month. These are accounts, not people: one player can hold accounts with several operators.

Ontario publishes no tax figures, because operators pay a revenue share under operating agreements rather than a published tax. The data excludes OLG’s own online gaming and horse-racing wagers, and all figures are unaudited. The full series is on our Ontario online gaming revenue data page.
