Methodology
One row per case, at its current or highest active stage (the lower-court result is in the summary). Every status, ruling and date comes from the court docket (CourtListener/PACER RECAP, Supreme Court docket), the court’s own opinion, or a CFTC or state attorney general release, linked on the row. News reports were used only to find cases. “Pending” means undecided; “active” means a ruling in force for the challengers; “failed” means the challenger lost or the case was dismissed. Some recently filed cases show only the filing because the docket had no later public ruling when we checked, and cases whose status we could not verify (for example the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court appeal) are left out until we can. Not legal advice.
