Stake Originals RTP and House Edge: Every Figure Stake Publishes
Stake's own game pages give most of its Originals a 99% or 98% RTP, with Blackjack at 99.43% and Roulette at 97.30%. Here is each figure we could trace to a Stake page, what RTP means over many bets, and where Stake is and isn't legal.
Key takeaways
- 01Stake's own pages give Dice, Limbo, Plinko, Mines, Crash, Keno, Wheel and Video Poker a 99% RTP (1% house edge).
- 02Pump, Flip, Tarot, Chicken, Darts, Bars and Cases are listed at 98% RTP (2% house edge). Blackjack is 99.43%, Baccarat 98.90% and Roulette 97.30%.
- 03RTP is a long-run average over a very large number of bets, not what you will get back in a session. Stake's own guide says the house edge “should be seen as a guide … not a hard and fast rule for each session.”
- 04Third-party slots on Stake have their own RTPs. Stake's house edge guide puts many at 4–5% house edge, with some as high as 15%.
- 05Stake.com's terms list Ontario and the United States as prohibited jurisdictions. Stake.us is a separate sweepstakes site with its own terms and a list of excluded states.
Stake publishes a house edge and RTP for most of its Originals on its own game pages. Most are 99% (1% house edge) or 98% (2% house edge). Stake blocks automated access to its site, so we read Internet Archive copies of each Stake page. The archive date is in the table and in every source link.
RTP is just 100% minus the house edge. A 1% house edge means a 99% RTP.

A few notes on the table:
- Baccarat varies by bet. Stake’s page gives 1.06% on banker, 1.24% on player and 14.36% on tie.
- Dice and Limbo let you pick your own target. Stake’s Dice page shows win chance and multiplier changing together and says “These RTP values stay consistent across setups.”
- Missing games. We left out Originals such as Hilo, Diamonds, Dragon Tower, Snakes and Rock Paper Scissors. We could not find a Stake page with a figure for them.
- Check before you play. Stake’s house edge guide says you can check the house edge or RTP “in the game description”. Figures can change, so confirm in the game’s own info panel.
What RTP means, and what it doesn’t
RTP is a long-run average. A 99% RTP means that across a very large number of bets, the game is designed to pay back about 99% of the total staked. The other 1% is the house’s margin.
It says almost nothing about one session. Stake’s own guide puts it plainly. It says this “doesn’t mean that you’re going to win exactly” the RTP figure, that “there will always be standard deviation or volatility”, and that the house edge “should be seen as a guide to the game’s winning probability but not a hard and fast rule for each session.”
Two practical points:
- Settings change your swings, not the edge. On Stake’s Dice page, a 49.5% win chance pays 2x and a 2% win chance pays 49.5x. Both work out to 99% RTP. The second just swings much harder.
- More bets means paying the edge more often. The house edge applies to every bet you place, including bets made with money you won earlier.
Originals vs third-party slots
Stake Originals are made by Stake. Most of the casino lobby is slots and live games from outside studios, and those have their own RTPs. Stake’s house edge guide says video slots typically sit at “4-5%” house edge. It adds that “a small selection of slots has a house edge between 1-2%, while others can have a house edge as high as 15%.”
Provably fair also only applies to Stake’s own games. Stake says each verifiable bet uses a server seed, a client seed, a nonce and a cursor, put through HMAC_SHA256. You get a hashed server seed before you bet, and you can check it after rotating to a new seed (Stake, Implementation). That proves the result wasn’t changed after you bet. It doesn’t lower the house edge.

Questions
What is the RTP on Stake Originals?
It depends on the game. Stake's own game pages list a 99% RTP (1% house edge) for Dice, Limbo, Plinko, Mines, Crash, Keno, Wheel and Video Poker. They list 98% (2% house edge) for Pump, Flip, Tarot, Chicken, Darts, Bars and Cases. Blackjack is listed at 99.43%, Baccarat at 98.90% and Roulette at 97.30%.
Which Stake Original has the lowest house edge?
Of the figures Stake publishes on its game pages, Blackjack has the lowest at 0.57% (99.43% RTP). Stake's Baccarat page gives 1.10% overall, but 14.36% on the tie bet.
Does a 99% RTP mean I get 99% of my money back?
No. RTP is the theoretical average return over a very large number of bets. In any session you can win much more or lose everything you bet. Stake's own house edge guide says the figure is “a guide to the game's winning probability but not a hard and fast rule for each session.”
Are Stake Originals provably fair?
Stake says each verifiable bet uses a server seed, a client seed, a nonce and a cursor, run through HMAC_SHA256. You see a hash of the server seed before you bet and can check it once you rotate the seed. That proves the result wasn't changed after you bet. It doesn't change the house edge.
Is Stake legal in Canada and the US?
Stake.com's terms list Ontario and the United States among its prohibited jurisdictions. For the rest of Canada, including Alberta, see our guide “Is Stake legal in Canada?”. Stake.us is a different product: a sweepstakes site for the continental US and Hawaii, with 22 states excluded in its terms.
